There is a big temple at some distance from my house. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is built on a small hill. I visited it last Sunday with my grandmother. My grandmother is a great devotee of Lord Vishnu. She often comes here for prayer and worship.

A flight of steps leads to the shrine. Along the long steps there are many small shops. They sell sweets, flowers, fruit and incense. These are offered at the temple.

The idol of Vishnu in the temple was very impressive. It was tall and beautiful. It was made of marble. It wore many ornaments. The crown had many precious stones in it. There was a good crowd of devotees.

We were given prasad by the priest. We wen round the main shrine seven times. My grandfather continued praying all the while. There were many beggars outside the temple.
