Question 02: Write dimensional formula for the following physical quantities: (1 Mark)
(i) Power (ii) Coefficient of viscosity
Question 03:
On a displacement-time graph, an object A makes a greater angle with the time axis than that of object B. Which line represents greater velocity? If object A and B make angles of 30° and 45°, respectively, then what is the ratio of the two velocities? (2)
Question 04: Find the dimension of (a x b) in the equation:
E = ae, where E is the energy, x is the distance, and t is time. (2)
Question 05: Find the value of 60 per min on a system that has 200 g, 100 cm, and 1 min as the base units. (2 Marks)
Question 06: The velocity-time graph of an object moving along a straight line is shown in the figure below.

Calculate the total distance and total displacement covered by object between t = 0 to 1 = 9 sec. (2)
Question 07:
A large fluid star oscillates in shape under the influence of its own gravitational field. Using dimensional analysis, find the expression for the period of oscillation (T) in terms of the radius of the star (R), the mean density of the fluid (p), and the universal gravitational constant (G). (3)
Question 08:
From the top of a tower 100 m in height, a ball is dropped, and at the same time, another ball is projected vertically upwards from the ground with a velocity such that it just reaches the top of the tower. Find when and where the two balls will meet. Take g = 10 m/s². (3)
Question 09: Define the instantaneous velocity of an object. (1+2)
The position of a particle is given by x = 6t² + 2t² + 2. Find
a) The average velocity of the particle during the time 0 to 2.0 s and
b) The instantaneous speed at t = 2.0 s
Question 10:
(a) Derive the following equations of motion for uniformly accelerated motion from any method. (2)
(i) v2 – u2 = 2as
(ii) s = ut + ½at²
(b) When a ball is dropped into a lake from a height 4.9 m above the water level, it hits the water with a velocity v and then sinks to the bottom with the constant velocity v. If it reaches the bottom of the lake 4.0 sec after it is dropped. What will be the approximate depth of the lake? Take g = 9.8 m/s². (3)
