Question: Why are green plants known as producers?

Answer: Green plants are known as producers because they make their own food through the process of photosynthesis.

Question: Name three plants and their parts that we eat.

Answer: We eat the following:

  1. Radish – roots
  2. Potato – stems
  3. Banana – fruits

Question: Why does a mosquito have teeth?

Answer: Mosquitoes don,t have teeth instead they have long, sharp pipe which is used to pierce the skin and suck blood.

Question: Explain the difference between herbivores, carnivores and omnivores.

Answer: Animals that derive their nutrition from plants are called herbivores. They have sharp, cutting teeth in front and flat, grinding teeth at back. Eg- cows and buffaloes.

Animals that derive their nutrition from other animals are called carnivores. They have long sharp teeth to tear the fresh. Eg- lion, tigers, wolves, dogs, snakes and eagles.

Animals that derive their nutrition from both plants and animals are called omnivores. Eg- humans, crows, bears, cockroaches etc.

Question: How are the teeth of carnivores different from those of herbivores?

Answer: The teeth of carnivores are long and sharp but the teeth of herbivores sharp, cutting teeth in front and flat, grinding at back, that’s why they are very different from each other.
