HKTDC Hong Kong Book Fair 2026: 36th Edition
This annual mega event brings together publishers, authors and readers, promoting the culture of reading. It features seminars with renowned authors from around the world, a diverse range of cultural activities and the “World of Art and Culture” zone, all to inspire the public to explore reading the world.

The 36th Hong Kong Book Fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will be held from 15 to 21 July (Wednesday to Tuesday) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), running concurrently with the Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo and the World of Snacks. As one of the signature summer cultural and leisure events in Hong Kong, the three fairs are estimated to bring together more than 770 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and regions, offering citizens and tourists a one-stop destination for culture, sports and leisure experiences.

Theme of the Year: “Reading the World: Cultural Legacy | Joyful Journeys”
To encourage readers to explore how traditional culture is inherited and reimagined in contemporary society through reading. By engaging in cultural and eco-tourism, readers are invited to experience more deeply the beauty of both humanity and nature, enriching their worldview and nourishing the spirit through the joyful journey.
This theme covers a wide range of topics, including cultural and ecological tourism, popular culture, historical sites and traditional craftsmanship, cultural heritage, sustainable development, cultural and creative industries and art and design, as well as cross-cultural creative industries.

International Writers Gather at Book Fair:
The fair features eight seminar series including “Theme of the Year – Cultural Legacy | Joyful Journeys”, “World of Knowledge”, “Hong Kong Cultural and Historical”, “English and International Reading”, “Lifestyle”, “Personal Development and Spiritual Growth”, “Children and Youth Reading”, and “Renowned Writers” seminar series.
In collaboration with Ming Pao Daily News and Asia Weekly, the Hong Kong Book Fair continues to invite renowned writers from Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong to speak at a series of seminars ” The English and International Reading Seminar Series invites authors from different places to share their experiences and insights into their creation process, guiding the audience to immerse themselves in the world of writing.
World of Art & Culture:
Broadens Global Horizons:
Supported by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the Book Fair continues to feature several exciting highlights, including the “World of Art & Culture”, as well as the industry-focused “International Publishing Forum” and “IP Roundtable”.
Following the annual theme, the “World of Art & Culture” brings the “World in Words, A Voyage of the Heart” exhibition. Across four zones, it uses “Local Eye” and “Global Eye” views to connect Hong Kong stories with world literature, showing the beauty of different cultures. There are six interactive setups that suggest books and travel routes based on what you like. Also, working with different consulates in Hong Kong, the event shows over 200 books and items from around the world to make “travel literature” easy and fun to understand.
