The University has in its fold at present 55 Colleges of Engineering enrolling over 13500 students each year besides 58 Polytechnics currently admitting 8760 students annually. One of the major area of focus of the University is to significantly improve the quality of technical education in Engineering Colleges and Polytechnics. The University soon after its establishment has focused its attention on a five point agenda which includes:

• Quality and productivity audit of all the services offered including the quality of teaching and research
