Question: Difference between the two major two types of carbohydrates in food.

Answer: Sugar:

  1. Sugar is a simple carbohydrates.
  2. It is absorbed quickly.
  3. It is sweet.
  4. It does not change colour with the Iodine test.

Starch:

  1. Starch is a complex carbohydrates.
  2. It is absorbed slowly.
  3. It is not sweet.
  4. It changes colour with the Iodine test.

Question: Ben (a football player) may need more carbohydrates in his diet than Sara (a computer programmer) Why?

Answer: Ben may need more carbohydrates in his diet than Sara because he needs more energy than Sara as he does more physical work.

Question: Diffrentiate between saturated and unsaturated.

Answer: Saturated:

  1. It is not good for health if eaten too much.
  2. It is solid at room temperature.
  3. Butter, ghee etc.

Unsaturated:

  1. It is liquid at room temperature.
  2. It is healthies than Saturated fat.
  3. Sunflower oil, Oliveoil etc.

  3. For proper growth
