Sainik School lmphal is a residential English medium Public School for boys, imparting Public School education with a military bias. The School was established on 07 Oct 1971. Apart from preparing the students academically, the school endeavours to develop character, team spirit, loyalty, esprit-de-corps and a high sense of discipline amongst students of the school. The school is also a member of Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC).
The School is located in a picturesque area at a distance of approximately 8 kms from Imphal on Imphal-Pukhao road. The School campus spread over an area of 268 acres is suitably developed to provide a serene environment and sound infrastructure.
The boys are admitted in classes VI and IX only. The admission is made strictly as per the order of merit in entrance examination and interview subject to medical fitness.
Boys seeking admission should have completed 10 years of age but not completed 11 years as on 01 July in the year of admission. He should not have appeared for Sainik School Entrance Examination earlier from any other centers in India.
Boys seeking admission should have completed 13 years of age but not completed 14 years as on 01 July in the year of admission. The boys seeking admission to class IX should be studying in class VIII in a recognized school. He should not have appeared for Sainik School Entrance Examination for Class IX earlier from any other centres in India.
The health of the boys is regularly attended by a qualified Doctor assisted by a Nursing Assistant.
The School has a 125 KVA and a 12.5 KVA generators ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the entire campus.
The School has its own water reservoir, filtration and treatment plant. Sufficient water is made available to the dormitories in the morning and evening for bathing purposes.
Laundry services are available to students. All students are required to give their clothes for washing and ironing to their respective House washer men on the days prescribed under their House arrangement.
The School has an extension counter of Manipur Rural Bank. Outstation payments are made through State Bank of India, In order to facilitate quicker realization.
In order to develop team spirit and esprit-de-corps amongst students, they are accommodated House wise under four Wings.
Each House is managed by a Housemaster, assisted by a Deputy Housemaster and two Assistant Housemasters while the holding Houses of class VI have a Housemaster and an Assistant Housemaster each to look after the boys. There are a total of 14 Housemasters and three Hostel Superintendents in addition to a Matron who carry out close supervision of students in their dormitories and are responsible for their care, welfare, personal health and hygiene and discipline at all times.
