CBSE Class 10 Compartment Exam 2018: Encrypted question papers used to plug leaks

On 16 July 2018, The Central Board of Secondary Education conducted STD 10 compartment exams through encrypted mode and decentralized printing of question papers.

The move is an attempt by the board to conduct leak-proof exams post it was marred by controversy over alleged STD 10 Mathematics and Class 12 Economics paper leak over social media which was being reported from different parts of the nation, including the national capital, Delhi.

“The encrypted paper has a code which can be only opened at a specific time decided by the board official to ensure secrecy is maintained. After this, a printout is taken and photocopies are made to be distributed among students,” an official said.

The board decided to conduct the STD 10 compartment exams by sending encrypted question papers which were printed by the exam centers as a pilot project anyway.
