Ram Dayal is always smiling. He is very friendly with students. He can be seen sitting on a stool. The stool is outside the principal’s office.

He has many duties. He rings the bell. He opens and closes the classrooms. He dusts the furniture. He keeps the principal’s office neat and clean. He carries out the orders of the principal. He protects the school property. He keeps the night watch. He is poor but hard working.

He lives in a small room in the corner of the school. He cooks his own food. A school cannot work without a peon.
